Tattoo Tip For Clients PT2…

Sorry its been a bit since last I Posted. I have taken sometime to get back into the swing of this on posting here. I will be being more consistent on how I approach these! Anyway back to the subject at hand…

payment methods in tattooing…

I’d like to talk about tattoo artists and their payment methods. Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of negativity online regarding pricing. Some people believe tattoos shouldn’t cost so much, often dismissing them as 'just drawings' or 'simple designs that shouldn’t take long.' But there’s a lot more to the tattoo process than meets the eye, no matter how simple or complex the design.

Tattoo artists often mention the costs of supplies, the value of our time, and the effort we put in. However, unless it’s explained, people who don’t understand the industry might view us as scammers, thinking we’re just trying to take their money. This is where I come in. I want to help people understand the tattoo process and why we charge what we do. The goal is always to give you the best possible tattoo.

I get that with today’s economy, tattoos are becoming a more cautious decision. People are picking and choosing where to spend their money. But here’s a question: Would you spray-paint a Lamborghini just to save a little money, or would you invest in a professional paint job? The same logic applies to tattoos.

Ex. 1

Some tattoos, like back pieces, sleeves, or full-body suits, can take weeks to plan. We sit down with clients to understand their vision, then take that back to the studio and work long hours on sketches and references. It’s not just about the time spent in the chair—it’s about all the time we invest outside of work to perfect the design. Tattoo artists don’t clock out at the end of the day; we’re always thinking about our craft, researching, and sketching(example above and below).

EX. 2

When you pay for a tattoo, you're paying for the years of practice, dedication, and effort that go into creating the best possible design. A professional tattoo artist will go above and beyond to ensure that your tattoo is something you’ll love for the rest of your life.

So, I encourage you to do your research before getting tattooed. Find an artist you trust, someone who will take the time to create something amazing for you. Remember, the price reflects the value, and a true professional is committed to making sure you get a tattoo that’s worth every penny.
